This week I realised a Peeping Tom has moved into our apartment and the creepy son of a bitch is moi …. I have turned into the ** Mrs Mangel of Toronto and it kind of happened without me really even trying.
Yesterday was a big day … huge in fact … it was 6 months to the day since we arrived in Canada. I can’t believe how quickly the time has flown. I spent the day doing something really exciting ……
Over the weekend, we celebrated a milestone with the 8-year-old getting a new moniker and becoming the 9-year-old.
Nothing says kids birthday than an afternoon spent watching medieval knights trying to kill each other as you chow down on a 3-course feast and so we found ourselves at Medieval Times.
Last night I popped my baseball cherry at my first Major League Baseball game and it was FUN with a capital F.
A few things have been throwing me off lately.
One of the things I can’t my head around is Seagulls …
** I may just get a little bit sweary in this post**
Word of warning if you move to Canada … Don’t get sick!
I know I have blogged about Ice Hockey before but they don’t call it the “5th season” around here for nothing. It is like The Canadian is making up for 10 plus years living away from North America and his mothership of Ice Hockey.
Australia wasn’t exactly a deserted island when it came to Ice Hockey. He played Ice Hockey in an old man league in both summer and winter, NHL games are broadcast on Foxtel Cable TV, he has an NHL game on the Xbox and when he wasn’t playing the crush (candy crush – it’s his thing but we won’t go there) on the iPad he would be on the Sportsnet.Canada page.
When we decided to make the move from Australia to Canada I thought I would start a blog for my ramblings the only problem was I had NFI
how so after several intense google sessions and using a WordPress template Maple Bacon Please was born.
This week it is Spring Break so the 8-year-old has a week off school. As we don’t have Spring Break in Australia when Spring Break comes to mind I think of American College students partying on a beach with hardly any clothes on, copious amounts of alcohol, sex and vomit. Disappointingly this is not how Spring Break is going down at our place this week.
Move over Bear Grylls because a new outdoor adventurer is on the scene and that would be Moi!
The Canadian celebrated a milestone birthday over the weekend and so on Friday, school and work got ditched and we took off for a long weekend away in Muskoka.
