Silence of the Lambs
Over the weekend, we celebrated a milestone with the 8-year-old getting a new moniker and becoming the 9-year-old. Nothing says kids birthday than an afternoon spent watching medieval knights trying to kill each other as you chow down on a 3-course feast and so we found ourselves at Medieval Times.

Spring Break
This week it is Spring Break so the 8-year-old has a week off school. As we don’t have Spring Break in Australia when Spring Break comes to mind I think of American College students partying on a beach with hardly any clothes on, copious amounts of alcohol, sex and vomit. Disappointingly this is not how Spring Break is going down at our place this week.

How we cheated on Christmas Day
Yesterday we had our first Christmas Day in Toronto and I was a little nervous how it would go down with just the three of us – The Canadian, The 8-year-old and myself. It was our first ever Christmas that we haven’t spent it with any friends or family. I wondered if it would end up just feeling like any other day, but thankfully it didn’t. We had a fantastic day and created some new memories and perhaps even a new tradition ….. the Cheats Christmas Lunch. I hear you asking, What is this stress-free Cheats Christmas Lunch ??? This week feeling festive we bundled up and went to the Toronto Christmas Market at the Distillery District.

Deportation
One of the first areas I wanted to explore upon our arrival in Toronto are the downtown neighborhoods of Corktown and The Distillery District. As we get around and explore we are also on the hunt for an area that we want to move into and make home. As a person who enjoys a fine tipple, this sounded like it could have potential, and has the added bonus of having our mail sent to an address that sounds like we live in a Brewery.
